My interest and involvement in design has grown significantly in the past four years. I began my pursuits in the field in 2004 at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. It was there that I not only completed, but excelled in a significant number of art and graphic design courses by the time I reached the end of my sophomore year. In May of 2008 I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in the Arts at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, majoring in Fine Art, with concentrations in Digital Media Art, and Art History.
I was fortunate to be able to build a strong foundation of both technical and conceptual skills at each of the two schools I studied at. Technically, I have become quite comfortable with the Adobe Creative Suite on both PC and Mac platforms. I use a Wacom Graphire Tablet daily to assist me in my design ventures. I find it very beneficial, as it gives me the ability to integrate my strong fine art skills into my computer-based work.
Conceptually, as my design knowledge as grown, I have developed strong passions for corporate identity design, advertising design, and the creation of coordinating design systems. I find my creativity deeply motivated by the deadlines and constraints that I have had to work through in recent years.
Regardless of what I am creating, I make a conscious effort to approach each project in a new way. This is the best way to grow as a designer. It presents a constant challenge to solve the design problem in a different manner then I had previously. Thus, making me more diverse in my efforts, and better preparing me for what comes next.
